The proposition concerned a possible increase in the number of port commissioners. A simple majority was needed for passage. The vote count for the Port of Bellingham, Proposition No. 1, Number of Port Commissioners, was: Yes — 44,198 49.19% No — 45,656 50.81 % Total votes — 89,854 The proposition did not receive the majority required and therefore FAILED.
