The results of the election were duly canvassed by the Whatcom County Canvassing Board on November 29, 2022, and the results of said canvass are as reads above. Stacy Henthor Chief Deputy Auditor Final Language Ballot Title Nooksack Valley School District 506 Proposition 2022-7 Dissolution and Reapportionment of Directors' Districts The Board of Directors of Nooksack Valley School District 506, Whatcom County, Washington, adopted Resolution No. 11 concerning the dissolution and reapportionment of its directors' districts. This proposition would authorize the district to dissolve its five existing directors' districts and reapportion the district into three directors' districts and with two directors at large to better facilitate citizen participation as board members. Should this proposition be: Approved Rejected Explanatory Statement Passage of Proposition 2022-7 would allow Nooksack Valley School District 506, Whatcom County, Washington, to dissolve its five existing director districts and reappropriate the districts into three director districts based on geographical location and two directors at large within the district. This change will not have a financial impact on the residents of the Nooksack Valley School District 506. IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of Nooksack Valley School District No. 506, Whatcom County, Washington submit the following proposition to the voters of said district for their approval or rejection at a special election held November 8, 2022. PROPOSITION NO. NOOKSACK VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT DISSOLUTION AND REAPPORTIONMENT OF DIRECTORS' DISTRICTS The Board of Directors of Nooksack Valley School District No. 506, Whatcom County, Washington, adopted Resolution No. 11 concerning the dissolution and reapportionment of its directors' districts. This proposition would authorize the district to dissolve its five existing directors' districts and reapportion the district into three directors' districts and with two directors at large to better facilitate citizen participation as board members. Should this proposition be: Approved � Rejected ❑ The Secretary of Nooksack Valley School District Board of Directors is hereby directed to immediately transmit to the Superintendent of Northwest Educational Service District No. 189 (ESD Superintendent) a copy of this Resolution, duly signed and attested. The ESD Superintendent is hereby requested to take all procedural steps necessary and/or required by law to effectuate a special election to submit this proposition to the voters of the entire school district. This Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the Nooksack Valley School District Board of Directors on the 16th day of June, 2022, the undersigned directors being present and voting.
