Committee Chair Elizabeth Boyle called the meeting to order at 10:41 a.m.
in a hybrid meeting.
Present: 7 - Elizabeth Boyle, Barry Buchanan, Ben Elenbaas, Kaylee Galloway, Jessica
Rienstra, Jon Scanlon, and Mark Stremler
Announcements
Special Presentation
AB2026-234 Presentation from Public Works, Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund (ER&R) staff
regarding fleet, equity and rates
Brett Piepel, Public Works Department, read from a presentation (on file)
on Equipment Rental and Revolving Fund management, and special projects
that have been completed or are in process. He and Garrett Reynolds,
Maintenance and Operations, answered questions.
They discussed with councilmembers that their old programming did not
have the capability to do motor pools but that the new AssetWorks solution
has the ability to manage it, that Road Fund equipment is required to have
replacement costs fixed into the rental rate but that the ferry is a unique
piece of equipment in that regard, if there is anything that needs to be
changed in the County's code to make the surplus process more efficient, if
they have expected values for things that are going to be surplussed and
whether they could make those available to people in the community, and
that they cannot sell vehicles and equipment to only a specific group of
people.
