RESOLUTION NO. 370
Resolution Abolishing "Commissioner Districts"
within Water District No. 10 for election
purposes.
WHEREAS, Whatcom County Water District No. 10 was
apparently divided into "Commissioner Districts" when
Water District No. 10 was initially created, and
WHEREAS, no statutory authority for continuation of
such internal "Districts" has been found and the Washington
State Legislature has repealed the only reference to
"Commissioner Districts" formerly found in RCW 57.12.030, and
WHEREAS, the original "Commissioner Districts" have
become badly unbalanced with regard to population and re-
apportionment would be difficult given the size of the District
and the voting precincts within it,
.NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the "Commissioner
Districts" of Water District No. 10 be and he are formally
abolished. Henceforth, all Commissioner positions shall be
open to all otherwise qualified candidates without regard to
residence within a specific "Commissioner District," and all
references to "Commissioner Districts" in Water District No. 10
policies, procedures and other regulations are hereby replaced
with the term "Commissioner Positions."
