WHEREAS, as a result of the merger of Whatcom County Fire Districts 3 and 13, the Board of Fire Commissioners of Whatcom County Fire District No. 21 d/b/a North Whatcom Fire & Rescue (the "District") is currently comprised of five members; WHEREAS, the District currently has a five member Board of Fire Commissioners as a result of the merger; WHEREAS, RCW 52.06.085 establishes a process for decreasing the number of Commissioners to three; and WHEREAS, the District has determined that it would be in the best interests of the District and its citizens to permanently increase the Board of Fire Commissioners of the District from three to five members. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Fire Commissioners of Whatcom County Fire District No. 21 as follows: Section 1. FINDINGS AND DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSITION.
