A quorum of the members of the Board was present throughout the meeting and a majority of those members on the Board present voted in the proper manner for the adoption of the Resolution. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this 6th day of August, 2009. Tom Fields, District Secretary Whatcom County Fire District No. 21 EXPLANATORY STATEMENT This measure would permanently increase the members on the Board of Fire Commissioners for Whatcom County Fire District No. 21 from three to five. Although the Board of Fire Commissioners currently has five members, this is only a temporary result of the merger of Whatcom County Fire Districts 3 and 13. The merger statutes require the Board to be reduced to three as Commissioner seats become vacant. Thus, this measure would maintain the current level of elected representation for the District.
