A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF WHATCOM COUNTY FIRE
PROTECTION DISTRICT NO. 18, PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE
QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE DISTRICT AT AN ELECTION TO BE HELD WITHIN THE
DISTRICT ON November 3rd, 2009, OF A PROPOSITION AUTHORIZING THE LEVY OF A
REGULAR PROPERTY TAX, IN THE SUM OF $.28 CENTS PER $1,000.00 ASSESSED
VALUATION EACH YEAR FOR SIX CONSECUTIVE YEARS BEGINNING IN 2009, TO
BEGIN COLLECTION IN 2010, FOR THE PROVISION OF ALL EMERGENCY MEDICAL
SERVICES AS PROVIDED IN WHATCOM COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT NO. 18 RESOLUTION
NO.7-09-1 AND THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON RCW 84.52.069
WHEREAS, it is the judgement of the Board of Commissioners of the district that it is essential and
necessary for the protection of the health and life of the residents of the District that the emergency
medical services enumerated in this resolution are provided by the District. Such services will necessitate
the expenditure of revenues for maintenance, operations, and equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Whatcom County Fire
Protection District No. 18, Whatcom County, Washington as follows:
Section 1. That the District shall provide emergency medical care or emergency medical services,
including related personnel cost, training for such personnel, and related equipment, supplies, vehicles
and structures needed for the provision of emergency medical services.
Section 2. In order to produce revenue adequate to continue to pay the cost of the providing of life
protection services as described in SECTION 1 of this resolution and to maintain reserve funds sufficient
to assure the continuation of such services, the district shall levy in 2009 and collect in 2010, a general tax
on taxable property within the District, maintenance and operation cost in the amount of $.28 cents per
$1000 dollars of assessed valuation.
Section 3. There shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the District for their ratification or
rejection, at an election to be held on November 3'd, 2009, the question of whether or not such levy for
maintenance and operations shall be made.
ADOPTED at the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Whatcom County Fire Protection
District No. 18 on this 9ffi day of July, 2009. RECEIVED

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES REGULAR PROPERTY TAX LEVY
Shall Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 18 be authorized to
levy a regular property tax for the continuation of the sum of $.28 cents
Per $1,000 dollars assessed valuation each year for six consecutive years
beginning in 2009, to begin collection in 2010, for the provision of all
Emergency Medical Services as provided in Whatcom County Fire
Protection District No. 18 Resolution No. 7-09-1
