RESOLUTION #75
A RESOLUTION of the Board of Fire Commissioners of Whatcom
County Fire Protection District No. 15, providing for the submission
to the qualified electors of the District at a special election to
be held therein in conjunction with the General election on November
2, 1993, of the proposition which would authorize lifting the 1060/0
LID Law for Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 15.
WHEREAS, in the judgment of the Board of Fire Commissioners of
the district, it is essential and necessary for the protection of the
public health, life and property, that necessary equipment be acquired
to adequately supply the residents of said district with fire suppres-
sion capabilities.
WHEREAS, inflationary increases of operation has exceeded the
revenue, due to restrictions imposed by legislative action, from the
property tax.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Fire Commissioners
of Whatcom County Fire District No. 15 submit a proposal to the
qualified electors of said district requesting authorization to
increase the levy to $1.00 per thousand dollars of assessed valu-
ation, which does not exceed the statutory limits authorized by law,
without a vote of the resident electors of said district.
ADOPTED at the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners
of Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 15 on this 4th day
of August 1993.
