A RESOLUTION of the Board of Fire Commissioners of Whatcom Croun�,'�Ie
District. No. 13, providing for the submission to the qualified electors of the District, at a special
election to be held therein in conjunction with the primary election on September 19, 1995, of the
proposition which would authorize lifting the 106% lid law for Whatcom County Fie Protection
District No. 13
W-BEREAS, in the judgment of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the district, it is essential, and
necessary for the protection of the public health, life, and property, that necessary equipment,
personnel, and facilities be acquired to adequately supply the residents of said district with fire
suppression capabilities, and
WHEREAS, inflationary increases of operation, and the need for equipment, and staffing have
exceeded the revenue, due to restrictions imposed by Legislative action, from the property tax.
TEEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Fire Commissioners of Whatcom County
Fire Protection District No. 13 submit a proposal to the qualified electors of said District
requesting authorization to increase the levy to $1.50 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation,
which does not exceed statutory limits authorized by law, withoutt a vote of the resident electors of
said district.
Ballot title for this proposition is attached as Exhibit "A".
Adopted at the regular meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners of W-hatcorn County Fie
Protection District No. 13, on this 16th day of February, 1995.

envelope. This is known as the Voter Affidavit, and is compared to
your signature on file with the County.
2. Place and unfold your Ballot Punchcard next to this Ballot Guide.
3. In this Ballot Guide, to the right of each measure or candidate, is a
number which is assigned to a position on your Ballot Punchcard -
use a paper clip or sharp pencil to punch out the pre -scored
square located just above the number assigned to the Candidate
or Measure.
4. After you have finished voting, carefully place your Ballot in the
Ballot Security Envelope. Please DO NOT return this Ballot Guide,
it is yours to keep.
5. IMPORTANT Put the Ballot Security Envelope containing your
voted Ballot Punchcard INSIDE the pre -addressed Mailing
Envelope, and MAIL IT — be sure to put a first-class stamp on it!
