ASSESSED VALUATION EACH YEAR FOR TEN CONSECUTIVE YEARS BEGINNING IN 2000 TO BE COLLECTED IN 2000 FOR THE PROVISION OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES ALL AS PROVIDED IN WHATCOM COUNTY F.P.D. #9 RESOLUTION # 99-06 AND THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON RCW 84.52.069 WHEREAS: It is the judgment of the Board of Commissioners of the district that it is essential and necessary for the protection of the health and life of the residents of the district that the emergency medical services enumerated in this resolution be provided by the district. Such services will necessitate the expenditure of revenues for maintenance, operations and equipment. Be it therefore resolved, by the Board of Fire Commissioners of Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 9, State of Washington as follows: SECTION 1. That the district shall provide emergency medical care or emergency medical services, including related personnel costs, training for such personnel, and related equipment, supplies, vehicles and structures needed for the provision of emergency medical care of emergency medical services. SECTION 2. In order to produce the revenue adequate to pay the costs of the providing of life protection services as described in Section 1 of this resolution and to maintain reserve funds sufficient to assure the continuation of such services, the district shall levy in 1999, and collect in 2000, a general tax on taxable property within the district, maintenance and operation costs in the amount of $0.35 per $1000. of assessed valuation. SECTION 3. There shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the district for their ratification or refection, at an election on November 2, 1999, the question of whether or not such levy for maintenance and operations shall be made. Adopted this 13th day of July, 1999, at the regular meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners of Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 9.
