As a result of increasing operational costs and capital needs, the District's regular tax levy is no longer adequate to continue providing fire and emergency services at existing levels of service or to make necessary facility improvements. By spreading costs over four years, the district is able to limit this levy to approximately 93 cents per thousand dollars of assessed valuation. If approved, the law prohibits any additional maintenance and operations tax levies for this four-year period. 01% Whatcom County Auditor's Office Ballot Measure Coversheet District Name: Whatcom County Fire District 8 District Address: 1800 Broadway, Bellingham WA 98225 Contact Person i Contact Person 2 Bill Hewett, Fire Chief Dave Pethick, Assistant Chief Name & Title Name & Title 3607788416 bchewett@cob.org 3607788466 dpethick@cob.org Phone & email Phone & email Rich Davis Name & Title Has your attorney prepared this ballot measure? 3606711796 rdavis@chmelik.com o Yes ® No Phone & email Resolution with original signatures or a certified copy Explanatory Statement prepared by your attorney, not to exceed ioo words "For" and "Against" Committee Appointment Forms es No Completed Ballot Measure Coversheet Ye No Complete if anythihig i missing...
