Roberts Park and Recreation District No. 1 Authorizing Property Tax Levy Shall Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 5 be authorized to in- crease its levy in excess of the 106% levy lid, to $0.5852 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation? A RESOLUTION of the Board of Fire Commissioners of WhAt,om County Fire Protection District No. 5, providing for the submission to the qualified electors of the District at a special election to be held therein, in conjunction with the Primary election on September 15, 1992, of the proposition which would authorize lifting the 106% LID Law for Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 5. WHEREAS, in the judgment of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the district, it is essential and necessary for the protection of the public health, life and property, that necessary equipment be acquired to adequately supply the residents of said district with fire suppression capabilities. WHEREAS, inflationary increase of operation has exceeded the revenue, due to restrictions imposed by legislative action, from the property tax. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Fire Commissioners of Whatcom County Fire District No. 5 submit a proposal to the qualified electors of said district requesting authorization to increase the levy to $.5852 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation, which does not exceed the statutory limit authorized by law, without a vote of the resident electors of said district.
