Deputy Prosecuting Attorney r is WHATCOM COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT # 4 ��''�Qs� RESOLUTION # q4/-LoL4 A RESOLUTION of the Board of Fire Commissioners of Whatcom Co—ft Fire Protection District No. 4, providing for the submission to the qualified electors of toe District at a special election to be held therein in conjunction with the General Election on November 8, 1994, of the proposition which would authorize lifting the 106% Lid Law for Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 4. WHEREAS, in the judgment of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the district; it is essential and necessary for the protection of the public health, life and property, that necessary equipment be acquired to adequately supply the residents of said district with fire suppression capabilities. WHEREAS, inflationary increases of operation has exceeded the revenue, due to restrictions imposed by legislative action, from the property tax. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Fire Commissioners of Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 4 submit a proposal to the qualified electors of said district requesting authorization to increase the levy to $1.50 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation, which does not exceed the statutory limits authorized by law, without a vote of the resident electors of said district. ADOPTED at the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Whatcom County Fire District No. 4 on this 12th day of September, 1994. a �Olmissioner ATTEST; Seer ary Cl 0"IGIA(44 'X�� a�t� " 1A.a. )OBI 7b. i/ ? s's _ IV OFFICE OF THE WHATCOM COUNTY AUDITOR WHEREAS, the undersigned as the duly elected, qualified and acting Auditor of Whatcom County, Washington, has jurisdiction of and is required by law to conduct all special elections for fire protection districts within the County; and WHEREAS, Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 4, Whatcom County, Washington, lies entirely within the boundaries of Whatcom County; and WHEREAS, the Board of Fire Commissioners of said district by resolution adopted on September 12, 1994, a certified copy of which has been delivered to the undersigned, has found that an emergency exists requiring the holding of a special election November 8, 1994; and WHEREAS, said district by said resolution has authorized and directed the undersigned to assume jurisdiction of and conduct said special election within Whatcom County. NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby authorized and ordered as follows: The undersigned concurs in the finding of an emergency and does hereby assume jurisdiction within Whatcom County of the above - mentioned special election of Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 4, Whatcom County, Washington, authorized and ordered by resolution of its Board of Fire Commissioners adopted on September 12, 1994, and will conduct said special election to be held November 8, 1994.
