Pro Statement The reason the Cemetery District needs this levy is, since the district was formed it has never taken any tax money, the reserve which was built up, was from the sale of gravesites. Now it has become necessary to ask for tax money from the district residents. The rising cost of taking care of the cemetery has gone beyond the money taken in from the sale of gravesites and the reserve is starting to deplete, and we need to start building up a reserve again to cover unforeseen expenses and take care of the operation and maintenance of the cemetery. There has been an increase cost in fuel, wages, insurance and maintenance of equipment. This levy is necessary to keep operation of the cemetery going at the same quality level people have come to expect, while allowing a reserve buildup for the future.
