Explanatory Statement
A vote approving Proposition 1 would provide 4-years of funding to Northwest Park and Recreation
District 2 enabling continued recreational services, improvement of park lands, preservation of
natural areas and wildlife habitat and to support and maintain parks and trails in the Birch Bay and
Blaine communities.
The requested amount is ten cents ($.10) per one thousand dollars of assessed valuation. This will
raise approximately $385,000 each year for four years at an average homeowner cost of $30 per year.
The District would use the funds during the 2011-2014 calendar years.
