This error happened years ago when the district was changed from Acme Water Association to Acme Water District #18 and it has never been corrected. Earlier this year, Acme Water District #18 sent the map and a corrected written description to Ronald T. Jepson & Assoc., P.S., a surveyor who checked and verified that they now match the existing map. This correction will allow those customers in areas not previously included to vote in the Commissioner elections as well as volunteer to be a Commissioner which has been previously denied by the County Elections Office. I understand that this will be passed on to the County Assessor to complete the correction. If there are any further requirements to meet, please let us know as early as possible so we can successfully correct this error. Thank you for your help in this matter. The July meeting had been cancelled for lack of quorum. The minutes from the June meeting were read and a motion was made to accept them. The motion was seconded and passed. OLD BUSINESS: Acme Testing bankruptcy and foreclosure — Lien question: Our attorney, Steve Hager, P.S., advised that since bankruptcy involves a lack of funds to pay debts, it is very hard to collect anything from the debtor. Filing a lien causes more expense for the Water District, so he advised not going to the expense as it is very unlikely that we would recover our expenses. Resolution to record our year end as being the calendar year instead of July 1 thru June 30 was signed . Meter Installations: Began on Monday August 12. Rick Dahlgren Excavating will install about 12 meters with the help of Brad Ferris, our Operator. 08/28/2013 WED 12:12 [TX/RX NO 50021 Q 002 Aug 28 13 12:59p Acme Ranch 360 595-2152 p.3 NEW BUSINESS: Boundary Resolution: A motion was made and seconded to submit the required papers; Map of water district, Exhibit "A" the written description and the minutes showing this motion. The motion passed. Judy will send these items to Whatcom County Elections Office for approval and they will forward them to the County Assessor. Wilson Engineering: The pilot program on the S03 well should be addressed at the next meeting. Judy will let Andy Law know and see if he is ready to meet and let us know what the costs might be to treat the Arsenic in the well. Meter Installation Report should also be ready by the September 111h meeting and Rick Dahlgren will be sending a bid to replace 3 or 4 valves. A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 pm. WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of this district shall identify the official boundaries by "Exhibit A", (attached) which describes by Township number, Range number and Section number, the Acme Water District and all the customers it serves and a map, (attached) showing the boundaries in a visual manner. WHEREAS, the previous description was incorrect, this description and map has been reviewed by a surveyor, Ronald T_ Jepson & Associates, PS, 222 Grand Ave., Suite C, Bellingham, WA 98225 and certified as correct on May 29, 2013. WHEREAS, we hereby sign this Resolution, 2013-2, to officially record these documents and make necessary changes to County records according to direction by the Whatcom County Elections Office who will notify the Whatcom County Assessor's Office.
