WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that a quorum of the Whatcom County Council's Climate
Action and Natural Resources Committee will attend and participate in the Sumas
Area and North Fork Nooksack Conservation and Wildfire Resiliency Tour
on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The tour will
begin at the Whatcom Conservation District Office at 6975 Hannegan Road,
Lynden, WA 98264.
This is a tour of properties that have worked closely with the District to implement
climate -friendly, fish -friendly, and forest and community wildfire -resilient
practices. Featured landowners and communities are leading the way in
sustainable agriculture, forests, and rural residential communities by protecting
water quality, enhancing local ecosystems, and improving resilience to climate
change.
Members of the public may join the tour at these locations:
9:00 a.m. Whatcom Conservation District Office, 6975 Hannegan Road,
Lynden, WA 98264 (Meet here for details about the tour)
9:45 a.m. Zylstra Property Tour
10:45 a.m. Graves Property Tour
11:30 a.m. Peaceful Valley Country Club, 8225 Kendall Rd, Maple Falls, WA

12:45 p.m. Whatcom Conservation District Office, 6975 Hannegan Road,
Lynden, WA 98264
