Present: 6 - Elizabeth Boyle, Barry Buchanan, Kaylee Galloway, Jessica Rienstra, Jon Scanlon, and Mark Stremler Absent: 1 - Ben Elenbaas Announcements Committee Discussion Attorneys Present: Jesse Corkern and Kimberly Thulin. Galloway stated that discussion of agenda item one may take place in executive session pursuant to RCW 42.30.110 (1) (i). Executive session will conclude no later than 8:50 a.m. If the meeting extends beyond the stated conclusion time, the Council chair will make a public announcement. Rienstra moved to go into executive session until no later than 8:50 a.m. to discuss the agenda item(s) pursuant to the RCW citation(s) as announced by the Council Chair. The motion was seconded by Boyle. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 6 - Boyle, Buchanan, Galloway, Rienstra, Scanlon, and Stremler Nay: 0 Absent: 1 - Elenbaas Councilmembers entered executive session at 8:32 a.m. At 8:50 a.m., the Council chair announced that the executive session would extend to no later than 9 a.m. At 9 a.m., the Council chair announced that the executive session would extend to no later than 9:05 a.m. At 9:10 a.m., the Council chair announced that the executive session would extend to no later than 9:15 a.m. 1. AB2026-189 Discussion of pending litigation with Civil Deputy Prosecutor, Jesse Corkern, regarding Samantha L. Robinson v. Whatcom County et al., Skagit County Superior Court Cause No. 26-2-00233-29; Defense and indemnification of Donnell Tanksley, Whatcom County Sheriff, Lt. Keith Linderman, Whatcom County Sheriffs Office, Whatcom County page Council Committee of the Committee Minutes - Final March 10, 2026 Whole -Executive Session and Detective Derek Jones, Whatcom County Sheriffs Office, named as defendants.
