RESOLUTION NO. 2026-007
RESOLUTION TO DECLARE WHATCOM COUNTY OWNED STRUCTURES AS WORTHLESS
WHEREAS, RCW 36.34.005 authorizes counties to establish comprehensive
procedures for the management of county property, including the deeming of Whatcom
structures as worthless when it is in the best interest of the county; and the demolition of
worthless county -owned structures where it is found to be in the best interest of a county to
demolish same; and
WHEREAS, in Whatcom County Code (WCC), Chapter 1.10.395, Whatcom County
has established those procedures; and
WHEREAS, Whatcom County Parks and Recreation Department, having met with the
County Executive and considered Whatcom County's best interest, recommends that the
County Council declare the Whatcom County owned structures, Tax Parcel Number
3705221990540000, Property ID 37030, and a street address of 6324 Saxon Road,
Whatcom County, Acme, WA, to be worthless structures, and further, that the structures be
demolished consistent with the provisions of the Whatcom County Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council to declare such
county -owned structure as worthless be scheduled in the Whatcom County Council
Chambers at 311 Grand Avenue, Whatcom County, Bellingham, WA or via Zoom (online
meeting access).
