WHEREAS, the money in and to be paid into the General Fund
of Lynden School District #504, Whatcom County, Washington,
during the 1986-1987 and 1987-1988 and 1988-1989 school years
will be insufficient to enable the District to take care of all '-i of its necessary financial obligations and to properly meet the ' educational needs of students attending the District's schools;
and
WHEREAS, in order to properly provide for said financial
obligations and educational needs of the District for the next
two successive school years, it is deemed necessary that a tax of
approximately $1. 40 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation
(based on 100% of true and fair value) to provide $445,000 for
the District's General Fund be levied upon all of the taxable
property within the District in excess of the maximum annual tax
levy permitted by law to be levied for the District without a
vote of the electors, such levy to be made in 1986 for collection
i in 1987 and that a tax of approximately $1.35 per thousand l dollars of assessed valuation ( based on 100% of true and fair
value) to provide $445,000 for the District's General Fund be
levied upon all of the taxable property within the District in

WHEREAS, the Constitution and laws of the State of
Washington require that the question of whether or not such
excess tax may be levied must be submitted to the qualified
electors of the District for their ratification or rejection,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by
Lynden School District #504, Whatcom
follows:
Section 1. It is hereby found and
of the students and other residents of
the Board of Directors of
County, Washington, as
declared that the welfare
the District requires the
District to carry out the plans hereinafter provided.
Sect ion 2. In order to provide $445,000 for the General
Fund of the District, a tax of approximately $1.40 per thousand
dollars of assessed valuation (based on 100% of true and fair
value) should be levied in 1986 for collection in 1987 upon all
the taxable property within the District in excess of the maximum
annual tax levy permittted by law to be levied for the District
without a vote of the electors and that in order to provide a
$445,000 for the
approximately $1.35

Upon approval by the voters of Proposition No. 1 hereinafter
set forth, the District may use the proceeds of such levies
during the 1986-1987, 1987-1988, and 1988-1989 school years by
incurring an indebtedness by the issuance of warrants against the
General Fund of the District, and may expend the proceeds of said
levies to pay such part of the general expenses of maintenance
