BLAINE SCHOOL DISTRICT 503
December 13, 1976
The Blaine School District Board of Directors convened in a regular meeting
on December 13, 1976 has adopted and entered into its official minutes the
following resolution:
Resol ution 8-76/77
WHEREAS, the funds available for Blaine School District No. 503,
through presently scheduled or proposed programs are insufficient to
meet the needs of the district; and
WHEREAS, school districts are authorized special levies by a vote
of the resident electors of the district; and
WHEREAS, the necessary funds are not available through any other
known source;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of -Blaine __
School Dist rict No. 503,Whatcom County, Washington: That a Special
School Election be held in the aforesaid school district on the 8th day
of February, 1977, for the purpose of submitting to the electors of said
district for their approval or rejection, the following proposition:
"Shall Blaine School District No. 503, Whatcom County, Washington,
authorize the County Commissioners of Whatcom County to levy in
the year of 1978 as part of the tax to be collected in the Blaine
School District No. 503, the sum of $680,000.00 which shall
require approximately $2.06 per each $1,000 of assessed
valuation of the aforesaid district, based upon an assessment
ratio of 100% of true and fair value, said tax levy to be in addi
tion to the maximum levy provided by law for such district, the
proceeds thereof to be placed in the General Fund and used to pay
the costs of Maintaining and Operating said district."
Which shall be submitted to the electors of said school district for their
approval or rejection in the form of the following Ballot Title:
"Shall an excess -tax levy be collected in 1978 of $680,000.00
requiring approximately $2.06 per $1,000 assessed valu-
ation for Blaine School District No. 503 Maintenance and Operation?"
LEVY YES LEVY NO
The Clerk of the aforesaid school district is hereby directed to
immediately transmit to the Whatcom County Auditor a copy of this resolution,
duly signed and attested, by which the Whatcom County Auditor is hereby
requested to take all procedural steps necessary and/or required by law
to the end that this proposition shall be submitted to the voters of said
school district.

The foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the Board
of Directors of the aforesaid school district on the 13th day of
