of Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 9; Whatcom County Fire
Protection District No. 10, and Whatcom County Fire Protection District

A Resolution of the Board of Fire Commissioners of Whatcom County Fire
Protection District No. 17, providing for the submission to the qualified
electors of the district at a primary election to be held on September 15,
1987, of the proposition which would authorize lifting the 106% LID Law
for Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 17.
WHEREAS, in the judgement of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the District,
it is essential and necessary for the protection of the public health, life,
and property, that necessary equipment be improved and replaced to adequately
supply the residents of said district with fire suppression capabilities, and
WHEREAS, the inflationary increase of operation has exceeded the Revenue, due
to restrictions imposed by Legislative action, from the property tax.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Fire Commissioners of Whatcom
County Fire District No. 17 submit a proposal to the qualified electors.of said
district requesting authorization to increase to $/.Gb per thousand dollars
of assessed valuation, which does not exceed the statutory limit authorized
by law, without a vote of the resident electors of said district.
Adopted at the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Whatcom
County Fire Protection District No. 17 this 9th day of July, 1987.
