RESOLUTION 1984 — 4 — AMENDED
A Resolution of the Board of Fire Commissioners of 5r1hatcom County
Fire Protection District No. 81, providing for the subssission to the
qualified electors of the district at a special election to be held
therein, in conjunction with the Primary election on September 18,
19840, of the proposition which mould authorize lifting the 106% LID
Law for Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 8,
WHEMS, in the judgment of the Board of Fire Commissioners of
the district, it is essential and necessary for the protection of the
public health, life, and property, that necessary equipment be
replaced to adequately supply the residents of said district with
fire suppression capabilities.
WHOMS, the inflationary increase of operation har, exceeded
the revenue, due to restrictions imposed by legislative action, from
the property tax,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Fire Commissioners
Of Whatcass County Fire District No. 8 submit a proposal to the
qualified electors of said district requesting authorization to
increase to $1.50 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation, which
does not exceed the statutory limit authorized by law, without a
vote of the resident electors of said district.
