A resolution of the Board of ?ire Commissioners of
UJhatcom County Fire 'Protection District No. 3,
providing for the submission to the qualified
electors of the district, at a special election to
be held therein, in conjunction with the Primary
election on September 18, 1984, of the proposition
which would authorize lifting the 106% lid law for
Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 3 for
a period of one year.
WHEREAS, in the judgment of the Board of Fire Commissioners of
the District, it is essential and necessary for the protection
of public health, life and property, to adequately supply the
residents of said district with fire suppression capabilities.
;° h'EHEAS, to better meet the increased operational and mainten-
ance costs and to imprcv upon facilities, equipment and
personnel to be able to riaet the demand for improved service.
r,HEREA S, for the purpose of providing funds for the procurement
of equipment to maintain the same level of services for all
electors of the District.
T EREF'ORE, BE IT :tESOLVED that the Eoard of Fire Co:rarissioners
of UJhatcom County Fire District 1Jo. 3 submit a proposal to the
Qualified electors of said district -requesting authorization
to restore the J .00 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation,
for one year, whic?-_ does riot exceed the statutory limit authorized
by law, without a vote of the resident electors of said District.
