DAY OF MARCH, 1980 FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS
IN THE BELLINGHAM SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 501, WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON THE
PROPOSITION TO PROVIDE $1,722,000 FOR OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE PURPOSES
FOR COLLECTION IN 1981 AND THE PROPOSITION TO ISSUE GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS
IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,085,000, AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED
ELECTORS IN LYNDEN SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 504, WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON THE
PROPOSITION TO PROVIDE $214,000 IN EXCESS PROPERTY TAXES FOR. OPERATION AND
MAINTENANCE PURPOSES FOR COLLECTION IN 1981.

Pursuant to a notice given by Joan Ogden, County Auditor of Whatcom
County, Washington, we the undersigned, Shirley Van Zanten, Chairperson of
the County Council of said County and David S. Mc Eachran, Prosecuting Attorney
of said County, now meet with Joan Ogden for the purpose of canvassing the
votes cast in all the precincts comprising the Bellingham School District No.
501, and Lynden School District No. 504, Whatcom County, State of Washington
as shown on the poll books at the Special Election held on Tuesday, the 18th
day of March, 1980. Joan Ogden, County Auditor, as aforesaid, now makes oath
as follows:

I, Joan Ogden, County Auditor of Whatcom County, State of WAshington,
do solemnly swear that the returns purporting to be the election returns of
the Bellingham School District No. 501, Whatcom County, Washington, and the
Lynden School District No. 504, Whatcom County, Washington, held on the 18th
day of March, 1980, have in no wise been altered by additions car ;erasures,
and that they are the same as when I received them, except that the votes
of the absentee voters have been added, SO HELP ME GOD.

RESOLUTION NO. 2-80
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of Lynden School District
#504, authorize March 11, 1980 as the special levy date for the General
Fund. In the event that the required special levy election date is chang-
ed by law, the Board of Directors authorize March 18, 1980 as the election
date.
PASSED by the Board of Directors of the Lynden School District No.504,
Whatcom County, Washington, at a special meeting thereof held this 29th
day of January, 1980.

RESOLUTION NO. 1-80
A RESOLUTION OF the Board of Directors of the Lynden
School District No. 504, Whatcom County, Washington,
providing for the submission to the qualified electors
of the district at a special election to be held there-
in on March 11, 1980, of a proposition authorizing the
levy of an excess tax of approximately $ .96 per $1000
of assessed value (1000 of true and fair value unless
specifically otherwise provided by law) to raise the
SUM of $ 214,000 for the district General Fund.
WHEREAS, tte money to be paid into the General Fund of the
district will be insufficient during the fiscal year 1980-81
to enable the district to operate properly and to tape care
of all financial obligations, it is deemed necessary that
the district levy a tax of $ 214,000 or approximately
$ .96 per $1000 of assessed value (1000 of true and
fair value unless specifically otherwise provided by law) upon
all taxable property within the district in 1980 for collection
in 1981 in excess of the annual tax levy limitation the district
is permitted by law to levy without a vote of the people; and
WHEREAS, the Constitution and laws of the State of Washington
provide that the question of whether or not such excess tax
may be levied for such purposes must be submitted to the qualified
voters of the district for their approval or rejection:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of
the Lynden School District No. 504, Whatcom County, Washington,
as follows:
Section 1: It is hereby found and declared that the
welTax—e—o—F the children of the district requires it to
carry out the plans here -after provided.
Section 2: That for the purpose of providing part of
funds rcquzred to have extra -curricular activities, to
make necessary repairs and replacements to school district
facilities, to provide transportation for students, to
prevent the impairment of the obligations of the district's
contracts and to properly carry on the functions of the
school within the .district, the district authorizes the
County Council of Whatcom County to levy a tax of
approximately $ .96 per $1000 of assessed value
(1000 of true and fair value unless specifically pro-
vided by law) upon all taxable property within the district
in 1980 for collection of 1981 in excess of the annual
tax levy permitted the district without a vote of the
people for the purpose of providing $ 214,000
for the district General Fund-
Section 3: It is hereby found and declared that an
emergency exists requiring the submission to the qualified
voters of the district of the proposition of whether
or not there should be levied such excess tax for the
purposes described herein at a special election to be
held within the district on March 11, 1980. The Whatcom
County Auditor as ex-officio supervisor of elections
in Whatcom County is hereby requested to also find the
existence of such emergency and to call and conduct
said election to be held within the district on that
date and to submit to the qualified voters of the
district at said special election the proposition here-
after set forth. The Secretary of the Board of Directors
is hereby authorized and directed to certify said pro-
position to the Whatcom County Auditor in the following
form:

7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The secretary of the Board of Directors is hereby
authorized and directed to deliver a certified copy of
this Resolution to the Whatcom County Auditor.

District No. 504, Whatcom County, Washington, at a
regular meeting thereof held this 14th day of January 1980
