REGULAR PROPERTY TAX LEVY TO $1.00 PER THOUSAND DOLLARS OF ASSESSED VALUE.

Pursuant to a notice given by Wella Hansen, County Auditor of Whatcom
County, Washington, we the undersigned, C. J. Johnson, Chairman of the Board
of County Commissioners of said County, and David S. Mc Eachran, Prosecuting
Attorney of said County, now meet with Wella Hansen, County Auditor of said
County for the purpose of canvassing the votes cast in all of the precincts
comprising the Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 13 and the Whatcom
County Fire Protection District No. 14, as shown on the Poll Books in Whatcom
County, Washington. Wella Hansen, County Auditor as aforesaid, now makes
oath as follows:

I, Wella Hansen, County Auditor of Whatcom County, State of Washington,
do solemnly swear that the returns purporting to be the election returns of
Whatcom County Fire Protection District No. 13 and Whatcom County Fire
Protection District No. 14, Whatcom County, held on the 21st day of September,
1976, have been in no wise altered by additions or erasures, and that they
are the same as when I received them, SO HELP ME GOD.

Washington, be authorized to increase its regular property tax
levy to $1.00 per thousand dollars of assessed value commencing
with collection in 1977?
(This shall not be construed to authorize an excess levy and shall
be subject to otherwise applicable statutory limits)

conjunction with the Primary Electionon September21,1976

Whereas in the judgement of the Board of Fire commissioners of_ the District, it
is essential and necessary for the protection of public health,life and prop- 3
erty that additional necessary fire fighting equipment be purchased.

Section _ _ I Growth of polulation in the District places a heavy bL-_rden on the
Fire Department with emergency calls,thus necessitating replacement and purchase
of new equipment to be used by the Fire Fic,;hters,therefore the Board of Fire
Commissione -,s of Wha-i,com Coi.-nty Fire _'1?rotecti_on District §14find it necessary to
submit to the qualified_ voters ofthc Fire Districtthe proposition2 of providing
more revenue by lifting the 106>0' lid law for the Fire district for a. period of
one year.
Section II For the purpose of purchasi naddittional fire fi e;hti �?g equi_pment,the
District Fire Commissioners have decided to submit to the qualified voters in
the Primary Election on Se;_tember 21,1976 the proposition of authorizing lifting
the 106;� lid limitation for fire District `14.
The funds realized b�f the lifting of the 106 L) limitation will be used to purchases:
such fire fighting tools as nozzles self-contained breathing apparatus, portable
communication equipment a.nd such other small equipment as may be necessary for
the eff.ectiveneSs and safet7lr of the fire fighters.
This proposal, if aut`iorized by the voters of Dire District -'1L4 will place
ar,niroximately $p'6000.0 '(six thousand dollars)additional revenue into the District

Expense fund and will be paid by the property owners of the District at the rate
of .190 per thousand dollars of assessed valuation, i ncreasi.ng, -the levy from.8095
mills to 1.00 mills.
