Ordinance amending the 2025 Whatcom County Budget, request no. 8, in the amount of $3,548,146
SUMMARY STATEMENT OR LEGAL NOTICE LANGUAGE:
Supplemental #8 requests funding from the General Fund:
1. To appropriate $220,000 in Health to fund abatement strategies with Opioid Settlement Funds.
2. To appropriate $49,000 in Non -Departmental to fund Galbraith Recreation emergency
response support.
From the Parks Fund:
3. To appropriate $74,146 in Parks to fund Canyon Lake Community Forest access
improvements.
From the Behavioral Health Fund:
4. To appropriate $1,000,000 in Health to fund companion for 95004 using behavioral health
millage.
From the Mental Health Developmental Disabilities Fund:
5. To appropriate $1,000,000 in Health to fund behavioral health contracts for youth mental
health.
From the Road Fund:
6. To appropriate $150,000 in Public Works to fund companion for SBR #4992 Birch
Bay-Lynden Rd. Project using the road fund.
7. To record $632,270 in Public Works to fund companion for SBR 44994 East Smith/Hannegan

8. To appropriate $1,000,000 in Public Works to fund companion for SBR 94998 Lummi Ferry

Hovander Homestead Park.
From the Capital Facilities Reserve Fund:

ORDINANCE NO. 2025-040
AMENDMENT NO.8 OF THE 2025 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the 2025-2026 budget was adopted November 19, 2024; and,
WHEREAS, changing circumstances require modifications to the approved 2025-2026 budget;
and,
WHEREAS, the modifications to the budget have been assembled here for deliberation by the
Whatcom County Council,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the 2025-2026
Whatcom County Budget Ordinance #2024-057 is hereby amended by adding the following additional
amounts to the 2025 budget included therein:
