Ordinance amending the 2025 Whatcom. County Budget, request no. 5, in the amount of $1,053,510
SUMMARY STATEMENT OR LEGAL NOTICE LANGUAGE:
Supplemental #5 requests funding from the General Fund:
1. To appropriate $28,010 in Sheriff to fund full expenditure of WASPC RSO grant proceeds.
2. To appropriate $213,000 in Sheriff to fund international border security patrols using grant
proceeds.
3. To appropriate $1,525 in Sheriff to fund the purchase of two hand held radars using grant
proceeds.
4. To appropriate $125,000 in Sheriff to fund firearm safety activities using settlement funds.
5. To appropriate $200,000 in Health to fund Environmental Health enterprise permitting and
licensing software updates using grant proceeds.
6. To appropriate $3,175 in Non -Departmental to fund refugee stabilization services using grant
proceeds.
From the Countywide Emergency medical Services Fund:
7. To appropriate $327,800 in Non -Departmental to fund reimbursement of underpayment &
underbilling in 2023-2024 to Stryker Corp.
From the Estate Excise Tax I Fund:
8. To appropriate $155,000 in AS-Facilitites to fund minor remodel of assessor's office.

ORDINANCE NO. 2025-027
AMENDMENT NO.5 OF THE 2025 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the 2025-2026 budget was adopted November 19, 2024; and,
WHEREAS, changing circumstances require modifications to the approved 2025-2026 budget;
and,
WHEREAS, the modifications to the budget have been assembled here for deliberation by the
Whatcom County Council,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the 2025-2026
Whatcom County Budget Ordinance #2024-057 is hereby amended by adding the following additional
amounts to the 2025 budget included therein:
