ORDINANCE NO. 2025-023
ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PROJECT BASED BUDGET FOR THE
COURTROOM AUDIO VISUAL SYSTEMS UPGRADE NO. 1
WHEREAS, this fund was established by Ordinance No. 2024-072 to
redesign and replace courtroom audio visual systems to fully support hybrid
court proceedings; and
WHEREAS, funding has been identified in the State Water Adjudication
grant to purchase and install court audio visual recording system for the new
Superior Court third floor courtroom; and,
WHEREAS, this work was initially included as part of this project budget but
is now being accomplished in the Superior Court Administration budget as
authorized by Council under Ordinance 2025-018; and,
WHEREAS, $180,000 of the original budget authority authorized in the
creation of the project budget is no longer needed; and,
WHEREAS, $180,000 of unneeded budget authority can be eliminated from
the project fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council
that Ordinance 2024-072 is hereby amended by removing $180,000 of
expenditure authority, as described in Exhibit A, to the project budget of $462,000
for a total project budget of $282,000.
