TITLE FOR AGENDA ITEM:
Ordinance amending the 2024 Whatcom County Budget, request no. 14, in the amount of
$4,564,923
SUMMARY STATEMENT OR LEGAL NOTICE LANGUAGE:
Supplemental 414 Requests funding from the General Fund:
1. To appropriate $1,000,000 in Health to fund contribution of opioid settlement dollars to
the 23-Hour Crisis Relief Center project companion to suppl #4806.
2. To appropriate $7,500 in Sheriff to fund purchase of E-Bikes from Whatcom Community
Foundation donation.
From the Road Fund:
3. To appropriate $13,950 in Public Works to fund road contribution for new Lummi Island
reminal spring lines companion suppl #4803 and longer gangway for ADA compliance
companion to suppl 44804 ferry expenses.
4. To appropriate $2,614,000 in Public Works to fund contribution for the Central Shop
NPDES Stormwater project budget amendment no. 1 companion to suppl #4808.
From the Elections Fund:
5. To appropriate $40,000 to fund OSOS information security grant from the Washington
Secretary of State.
From the Jail Fund:
6. To appropriate $150,000 in Corrections to fund HCA Medicaid Reentry Project with
grant proceeds.

AMENDMENT NO. 14 OF THE 2024 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the 2023-2024 budget was adopted November 22, 2022; and,
WHEREAS, changing circumstances require modifications to the approved 2023-2024 budget;
and,
WHEREAS, the modifications to the budget have been assembled here for deliberation by the
Whatcom County Council,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the 2023-2024
Whatcom County Budget Ordinance #2022-070 is hereby amended by adding the following additional
amounts to the 2024 budget included therein:
