Request closing the Vactor Truck Storage Building Fund 379 and remaining funds of

7 CLOSING THE VACTOR TRUCK STORAGE BUILDING FUND 379

9 WHEREAS, on November 20t", 2018 Ordinance 2018-072 created the Vactor Truck
10 Storage Building Fund and funded the project; and,
11
12 WHEREAS, the Road fund 108 contributed $440,000 towards the project; and,
13-
14 WHEREAS, the project has not incurred any expenditures since 2020; and,
15
16 WHEREAS, section 6.8 of the Whatcom County Home Rule Charter allows for
17 project -based capital budget appropriation ordinances that lapse when the project has been
18 completed for abandoned or when no expenditure or encumbrance has been made for three
19 (3) years; and,
20
21 WHEREAS, the project fund is no longer needed; and,
22
23 WHEREAS, the current cash balance in the fund is approximately $426,509.12; and,
24
25 WHEREAS, remaining cash in the fund should be returned to the Road fund in the
26 amount of $426,509.12; and,
27
28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the
29 Vactor Truck Storage Building Fund be dissolved and its remaining cash balance be returned
30 to the Road fund.
