ORDINANCE NO. 2024-026
CLOSING BIRCH BAY DRIVE AND PEDESTRIAN FACILITY FUND 339
WHEREAS, on November 20, 2012, Ordinance 2012-050 created the Birch Bay
Drive and Pedestrian Facility Project Fund and funded the project; and,
WHEREAS, the project has now been completed; and,
WHEREAS, the project fund is no longer needed; and,
WHEREAS, the Real Estate Excise Tax Fund II, BBWARM, Public Utility
Improvement, and Road Funds were the contributing funds toward the project; and,
so
WHEREAS, the current cash balance in the fund is approximately $3,509,400.70;
WHEREAS, remaining cash in the fund should be returned to the Road Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the
Birch Bay Drive and Pedestrian Facility Project Fund be dissolved and its remaining cash
balance be returned to the Road Fund.
