ORDINANCE NO. 2023 - 049
ESTABLISHING PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON EUCLID AVENUE
AS WHATCOM COUNTY CODE 10.24.260
WHEREAS, the Revised Code of Washington, RCW 46.61.570, authorizes the
placement of official signs prohibiting stopping, standing, or parking; and
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council has heard many complaints of nuisance
activities along Euclid Avenue that warrant establishing no overnight parking, and
WHEREAS, Euclid Park hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the
Whatcom County Code be amended to add a new section as follows:
10.24.260 Euclid Avenue
A "No Parking" zone is established on Euclid Avenue from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
on the east side of Euclid Avenue from approximately 735 feet south of Crescent
Street at the north to Glen Cove Lane to the south.
BE IT FINALLY ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to
install the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff be notified by providing a
copy of this ordinance.
ADOPTED this 12th day of September 2023.
