SUMMARY STATEMENT OR LEGAL NOTICE LANGUAGE:
Supplemental #9 requests funding from the Road Fund:
1. To appropriate $74,598 to fund Public Works Administrative Program Specialist position.
From the American Rescue Plan Act Fund:
2. To appropriate $500,000 to fund increased support for Whatcom County Food Bank
Network.
From the Solid Waste Fund:
3. To appropriate $70,000 to increase funding for Pt. Roberts transfer station trailer replacement
project.
From the Real Estate Excise Tax II Fund:
4. To appropriate $50,000 to fund Semiahmoo Parks Sewer System Repairs.
From the Real Estate Excise Tax I Fund:
5. To appropriate $50,000 in Parks to fund Bellingham Senior Center Sewer Line Replacement.
6. To appropriate $15,566 in Parks to fund Sumas Senior Center Roof Replacement.
From the Ferry System Fund:
7. To appropriate $20,000 to fund Lummi Island public restroom repairs and remodeling.
From the Adminstrative Services Fund - Finance:
8. To appropriate $62,386 to fund additional staffing in AS -Finance.

ORDINANCE NO. 2023 - 037
AMENDMENT NO. 9 OF THE 2023 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the 2023-2024 budget was adopted November 22, 2022; and,
WHEREAS, changing circumstances require modifications to the approved 2023-2024 budget;
and,
WHEREAS, the modifications to the budget have been assembled here for deliberation by the
Whatcom County Council,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the 2023-2024
Whatcom County Budget Ordinance #2022-070 is hereby amended by adding the following additional
amounts to the 2023 budget included therein:
