Council Climate Action and Natural Committee Minutes - Final February 21, 2023 Resources Committee Call To Order Roll Call Committee Chair Kaylee Galloway called the meeting to order at 11 a.m. in a hybrid meeting. Present: 3 - Todd Donovan, Ben Elenbaas, and Kaylee Galloway Absent: None Also Present: Barry Buchanan and Carol Frazey Announcements Committee Discussion 1. AB2023--004 Update from the Forestry Advisory Committee The following people updated the Councilmembers: • John Gold, Forestry Advisory Committee Chair • Susan David, Forestry Advisory Committee Vice Chair Councilmembers and the speakers discussed whether the Council had received any feedback from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) on the letter sent by Council regarding Phase II of the Carbon Project, getting the advisory committee's advice on Senate Bill 5688 - 2023-24 and House Bill 1789 - 2023-24, how the Brokedown Palace timber sale would come to the Council, and maybe facilitating a meeting with the DNR as well as a representative from the Forest Advisory Committee and the Climate Impact Advisory Committee to educate on and build awareness of the timber sales. Councilmembers discussed what the frequency of these advisory committee updates should be and concurred that quarterly or as -needed updates would be good. This agenda item was PRESENTED AND DISCUSSED. Items Added by Revision Other Business There were no agenda items added by revision.
