Call To Order
Roll Call
Council Vice Chair Barry Buchanan called the meeting to order at 1:04 p.m.
in a virtual meeting.
Present: 6 - Barry Buchanan, Tyler Byrd, Ben Elenbaas, Carol Frazey, Kaylee Galloway,
and Kathy Kershner
Absent: 1 - Todd Donovan
Announcements
Committee Discussion and Recommendation to Council
1. AB2022-589 Resolution certifying amounts to be levied by Whatcom County taxing districts to the
County Assessor
Rebecca Xczar, County Assessor, briefed the Councilmembers.
Galloway moved and Frazey seconded that the Resolution be APPROVED.
Xczar answered questions about a typographical error in the Cemetery
District 1 Levy Certification document stating "the following levy amounts
be collected in 2022" (as opposed to 2023), whether the language which
says "newly constructed wind turbines" in the City of Everson's Levy
Certification document is old language, and what taxes this Resolution
includes and does not include.
Galloway's motion that the Resolution be APPROVED carried by the
following vote:
Aye: 6 - Buchanan, Byrd, Elenbaas, Frazey, Galloway, and Kershner
Nay: 0
Absent: 1 - Donovan
Enactment No: RES 2022-050
