Committee Chair Barry Buchanan called the meeting to order at 1:36 p.m.
in a virtual meeting.
Present: 3 - Barry Buchanan, Tyler Byrd, and Carol Frazey
Absent: None
Also Present: Todd Donovan, Ben Elenbaas, and Kathy Kershner

Special Presentation
1. &B2021_-455 Report from the Sheriff's Office
Bill Elfo, Sheriff, reported on the Sheriffs Office operations in 2020 and
other current issues. He and Councilmembers discussed the number of
robberies in 2020; bringing forward an ordinance or resolution in
September concerning hiring bonuses for the Sheriffs Office to help fill
debuty positions; whether signing bonuses should be extended to other
areas in the County for fairness; looking at additional staff to help with the
backlog of concealed carry permits; considering hiring bonuses in light of
recent State rules on vaccination; working on hiring bonuses with the
Executive's Office; Sheriff's Office, and Human Resources; and where
funds for that would come from.
