Committee Chair Barry Buchanan called the meeting to order at 1:46 p.m.
in a virtual meeting.
Present: 3 - Barry Buchanan, Tyler Byrd, and Carol Frazey
Absent: None
Also Present: Rud Browne, Todd Donovan, and Kathy Kershner

Special Presentation
1. At12021-394 Report from District Court Probation Department
The following people gave a presentation and answered questions:
• Bruce Van Glubt, District Court Administrator
• Jake Wiebusch, District Court Probation Manager
They answered questions about the ankle bracelet program used by the
Sheriffs Department and the friendship diversion program used by the
Cities, how District Court is doing with its overall caseload, how caseload
will be affected when the backlog in the trial courts starts clearing out,
whether each of the specialized units in District Court has only one
probation officer, the length and effectiveness of the Domestic Violence
Moral Reconation Therapy (vlRl) program, availability of 24% / monitoring
and live reporting of ankle bracelets in the existing programs and where the
Court is with program utilization, and whether text messaging to remind
clients of court hearings will be continued after the COVID-19 pandemic.
