Call To Order
Roll Call
Committee Chair Todd Donovan called the meeting to order at 9:27 a.m. in
a virtual meeting.
Present: 3 - Todd Donovan, Ben Elenbaas and Barry Buchanan
Absent: None
Also Present: Carol Frazey, and Kathy Kershner
Special Presentation
1. AB2021-237 Presentation from Public Works Staff on the Coastal Storm Model System
(CoSMoS) and Compound Flood Modeling
Chris Elder, Public Works Department, introduced the item and the
following people presented:
• Eric Grossman, US Geological Survey (USGS)
• Nicole Faghin, Washington Sea Grant (WSG)
They answered how this model is different from and more reliable than
other models; whether this will give alternatives to armoring, dredging, and
levies; and whether images and projections will be accessible to the public.
