ORDINANCE NO. 2021-004
TEMPORARY INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS ON DEER TRAIL
WHEREAS, in compliance with RCW 46.61.200 and 47.36.110, it is found necessary and
expedient to install traffic control signs on certain County Roads; and
WHEREAS, due to recent severe weather, and associated heavy rains, there was a fill
slope failure to a portion of Deer Trail, and it was determined that a one lane road is needed on
Deer Trail in the vicinity of Cherry Tree Lane with stop control at each end; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that temporary
stop signs be installed on Deer Trail, southbound at the intersection with Cherry Tree Lane, and
northbound 100 feet south of Cherry Tree Lane, located within Section 24, Township 40 North,
Range 1 West, W.M.; and
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that when the repairs to Deer Trail are completed, the
temporary stop signs will be removed; and
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to install the
appropriate signs and the Whatcom County Sheriff be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
