Committee Chair Barry Buchanan called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m.
in a virtual meeting.
Present: 3 - Barry Buchanan, Tyler Byrd and Carol Frazey
Absent: None
Also present: Rud Browne and Kathy Kershner
Special Presentation
1. AB2020-501 Presentation and discussion of Public Defense Policies for conflict of Codefendants
and Case Weighting Standards for Whatcom County Public Defender's Office
The presenters were not in the meeting and the following people discussed
with Councilmembers how to proceed:
• Karen Frakes, Prosecuting Attorney's Office
• Dana Brown -Davis, Clerk of the Council
Byrd moved that the Presentation be HELD IN COMMITTEE. The motion
carried by the following vote:
Aye: 3 - Buchanan, Byrd and Frazey
Nay: 0
Absent: 0
