Ordinance amending the 2020 Whatcom County Budget, request no. 16, in the amount of $987,509
SUMMARY STATEMENT OR LEGAL NOTICE LANGUAGE:
Supplemental #16 requests funding from the General Fund:
1. To appropriate $131,227 in Non Departmental to fund Opportunity Council Public Services
CDBG 2020-21 program from grant proceeds.
From the Election Reserve Fund:
2. To appropriate $55,570 in Auditor to fund ballot drop boxes, voter outreach, and partial
funding of ballot sorter from grant proceeds.
From the Homeless Housing Fund:
3. To appropriate $775,315 in Health to fund Housing and Essential Needs program from
increase in grant proceeds.
From the Emergency Management Fund:
4. To appropropriate $25,397 to fund FFY 2020 EMPG-S COVID-19 program with grant
proceeds.

ORDINANCE NO. 2020-044
AMENDMENT NO. 16 OF THE 2020 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the 2019-2020 budget was adopted November 20, 2018; and,
WHEREAS, changing circumstances require modifications to the approved 2019-2020 budget;
and,
WHEREAS, the modifications to the budget have been assembled here for deliberation by the
Whatcom County Council,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the 2019-2020
Whatcom County Budget Ordinance #2018-064 is hereby amended by adding the following additional
amounts to the 2020 budget included therein:
