Ordinance amending the 2019 Whatcom County budget, request no. 12, in the amount of $2,759,531
SUMMARY STATEMENT OR LEGAL NOTICE LANGUAGE:
Supplemental #12 requests funding from the General Fund:
1. To appropriate $362,000 in Non Departmental to fund increased jail medical costs.
2. To appropriate $1,000 in Sheriff to fund additional traffic safety equipment from grant
proceeds.
From the Whatcom County Jail Fund:
3. To re -appropriate $36,531 to fund jail electrical work.
4. To appropriate $9,000 to fund fiber cost increase.
5. To appropriate $17,000 to fund Medication Assisted Treatment program.
6. To appropriate $362,000 to fund increased jail medical services and medication costs from
General Fund transfer.
From Real Estate Excise Tax 1 Fund:
7. To appropriate $172,000 in Non Departmental to fund additional transfer in support of East
Whatcom Regional Resouce Center Phase II construction.
8. To appropriate $50,000 in AS -Facilities to fund second floor Whatcom Unified Emergency
Coordination Center remodel
From the Public Utilities Improvement (EDI) Fund:
9. To appropriate $750,000 to fund Port of Bellingham Broadband Project.
10. To appropriate $1,000,000 to fund transfer out in support of Triage Facility project.

ORDINANCE NO.2019-070
ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2019 WHATCOM COUNTY BUDGET, REQUEST NO. 12, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $2,759,531
WHEREAS, the 2019-2020 budget was adopted November 20, 2018; and,
WHEREAS, changing circumstances require modifications to the approved 2019-2020
budget; and,
WHEREAS, the modifications to the budget have been assembled here for deliberation by
the Whatcom County Council,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the 2019-2020
Whatcom County Budget Ordinance #2018-064 is hereby amended by adding the following
additional amounts to the 2019 budget included therein:
