POSITION: Clerk III REPORTS TO: Administrative

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Explains procedures and necessary forms; provides general program information and assistance
in the completion of necessary documents; and processes completed paperwork.
Works collaboratively with multiple divisions between two buildings with limited direction.
Prepares notifications and processes documents with established procedures and legal requirements.
Works with a variety of environmental and community health partners to ensure completion of
required documents.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of medical terminology septic, water, and food permit processing is desirable and
may be required, depending on assignment.
Spanish language fluency is desirable, depending on assignment.
Requires the ability to:
Contribute to a work environment where continuous quality improvements in service and
professional practice are pursued.
Communicate effectively and professionally with diverse customers.
Maintain absolute confidentiality and handle sensitive information in an appropriate manner.
Type accurately and proficiently with a speed of 45 net words per minute; perform data
entry with accuracy at 100 net strokes per minute; and use a calculator by touch with
accuracy at 130 net strokes per minute.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must review all applicable Cash Handling policies within first week of employment.
Depending on assignment, may be required to become a Notary Public and maintain throughout
employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an office and meeting room settings. Sits or stands for long periods of time.
May occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Moves throughout the County's
facilities. Periodically drives motor vehicle to perform duties at other sites or travel out of the County
Depending on area of assignment,possibility of exposure to a variety of bloodbome pathogens and
environmental and chemical hazards.Possibility of exposure to hostile and offensive language from
the public. Uses appropriate safety equipment and follows established work safety policies,practices
and procedures.
