RESOLUTION NO. 2019-008
ALLOWING APPOINTMENT OF ONE COUNCILMEMBER TO SERVE AS AN
OPTIONAL ALTERNATE MEMBER OF THE WASHINGTON STATE ASSOCIATION OF
COUNTIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, the Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC) is a voluntary,
non-profit association serving all of Washington's 39 counties; and
WHEREAS, the WSAC Board of Directors includes elected county commissioners,
council members, and executives from all over Washington State; and
WHEREAS, the WSAC bylaws provide that each county with a population of 180,000
or greater shall appoint one representative (County Executive) and an alternate (County
Councilmember) to the WSAC Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council wishes to appoint one of its members to
serve as an optional alternate member of the WSAC Board of Directors.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that one
member of the Council shall be appointed to serve as an optional alternate of the WSAC
Board of Directors on an annual basis.
