CALL TO ORDER
Committee Chair Barbara Brenner called the meeting to order at 2:37 p.m. in the
Council Chambers, 311 Grand Avenue, Bellingham, Washington.
ROLL CALL
Present: Tim Ballew, Barbara Brenner, and Barry Buchanan
Absent: None
Also Present: Rud Browne, Tyler Byrd, Todd Donovan, and Satpal Sidhu
SPECIAL PRESENTATION
1. PRESENTATION FROM SAFE STORAGE PNW (AB2018 -139)
Brittany Jones, Safe Storage PNW, submitted and read from a presentation (on file)
about installing safe storage lockers for the homeless. She answered questions about
possible costs, and benchmarks and statistics measuring success.
Buchanan moved to get more information from the administration and request that
the administration consider County property that may be appropriate for location.
The motion was seconded.
The motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Ballew, Brenner, and Buchanan (3)
Nays: None (0)
COMMITTEE DISCUSSION
1. DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A 25 MPH SPEED
LIMIT ON CERTAIN BIRCH BAY AREA ROADS (ORDINANCE SCHEDULED FOR
INTRODUCTION THIS EVENING) (AB2018 -137)
