CALL TO ORDER
Committee Chair Barry Buchanan called the meeting to order at 2:03 p.m. in the
Council Chambers, 311 Grand Avenue, Bellingham, Washington.
ROLL CALL
Present: Barry Buchanan, Tyler Byrd, and Satpal Sidhu
Absent: None
Also Present: Tim Ballew, Barbara Brenner, Rud Browne, and Todd Donovan
SPECIAL PRESENTATION
1. ANNUAL REPORT FROM DISTRICT COURT PROBATION (AB2018 -066)
Bruce Van Glubt, District Court Administrator, submitted and read from a
presentation (on file). He answered questions on whether the phone call reminder program
informs people that failure to pay fines will not result in incarceration, a phone call reminder
script that staff and volunteers use, the possibility of creating a night court, email court
appointment reminders, and the restriction in number of people in the electronic monitoring
program.
OTHER BUSINESS
There was no other business.
