34 Jack Louws, County Executive, reported on and councilmembers discussed the
35 following items:
36 • The State capital budget, including funding for the East Whatcom Regional
37 Resource Center, the Slater Road /Jordan Creek fish passage, and other
38 projects funded from State grant and loan funds.
39 • The Facilities Division's potential move to a property on Williamson Way.
40 • The tax levy ordinance related to the BP settlement.

44 0 Brad Bennett, Administrative Services Department, gave a staff report on the
45 tax levy ordinance scheduled for the evening Council meeting.

Tyler Schroeder, Executive's Office, answered questions on the electronic reporting
system, benefits of all the fire districts and ambulances having the same data gathering
system, improving the metric that demonstrates increased efficiencies from the upgrade,
and who will operate the centralized emergency management services (EMS) system.
Jack Louws, County Executive, described and answered questions on the history and
use of the County's fleet.

THROUGH ORDINANCE 2011 -031) TO ADD $350,000 OF EXPENDITURE
AUTHORITY, FOR A TOTAL AMENDED PROJECT BUDGET AMOUNT OF
$3,467,700 (AB2018 -038)

stakeholders involved in the design charrette and process.

Browne moved to recommend adoption to the full Council.
Steve Oliver, Treasurer, answered questions on the purpose of the petty cash fund
and requested increase.

4. REQUEST AUTHORIZATION FOR THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT AMENDMENT BETWEEN WHATCOM COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL
ZONE DISTRICT AND THE NATURE CONSERVANCY TO ALLOCATE THE
SECOND YEAR OF FEDERAL FUNDING FOR THE DEMING LEVEE
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND THE LOWER NOOKSACK RIVER GEOMORPHIC
ASSESSMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $150,000, FOR A TOTAL AMENDED
CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $400,000 (COUNCIL ACTING AS THE WHATCOM
COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT BOARD OF SUPERVISORS)
