ORDINANCE NO. 2016 -062
CLOSING LAKE WHATCOM BOULEVARD RE- SURFACING FUND 352
WHEREAS, on November 25, 2014 Ordinance 2014 -068 created the Lake Whatcom
Boulevard Re- surfacing Fund and funded the project; and,
WHEREAS, the Road Fund contributed $1,500,000 towards the project; and,
WHEREAS, the project cost substantially less due to anticipated construction scope
changing in the area of subgrade repairs and no repairs performed due to water quality
quantity compliance issues; and,
WHEREAS, the project has now been completed; and,
WHEREAS, the project fund is no longer needed; and,
WHEREAS, remaining cash in the fund should be returned to the Road Fund,
WHEREAS, the current cash balance in the fund is $993,421,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the
Lake Whatcom Boulevard Re- surfacing Fund be dissolved and its remaining cash balance be
returned to the Road Fund.
