ORDINANCE NO. 2016 -027
AMENDING WHATCOM COUNTY CODE SECTION 2.118.060, WILDLIFE ADVISORY
COMMITTEE, TERM OF OFFICE
WHEREAS, On July 7, 2015, the Whatcom County Council adopted Ordinance 2015-
031, establishing the Wildlife Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Wildlife Advisory Committee has spent much of the last year
reviewing and discussing Chapter 11 of the Comprehensive Plan (Environment) and Article 7
of the Critical Areas Ordinance (Habitat Conservation Areas); and
WHEREAS, due to the amount of time spent reviewing the Comprehensive Plan and
Critical Areas Ordinance, the Committee has been unable to complete its work on updating
the Existing Condition Report, as requested in Ordinance 2015 -031; and
WHEREAS, the Wildlife Advisory Committee has submitted a request for a one -year
extension to its term of office in order to complete work on the Existing Condition Report
and present findings and recommendations to the County Council and Whatcom County
Planning and Development Services staff.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
Whatcom County Code Section 2.118.060, Wildlife Advisory Committee, Term of Office, is
hereby amended as follows:
2.118.060 Term of Office.
The committee shall serve until July 31, 2916 2017.
