CALL TO ORDER
Committee Chair Barbara Brenner called the meeting to order at 1:34 p.m. in the
Council Chambers, 311 Grand Avenue, Bellingham, Washington.
ROLL CALL
Present: Barbara Brenner, Rud Browne, and Ken Mann
Absent: None
Also Present: Todd Donovan and Satpal Sidhu
COMMITTEE DISCUSSION
1. DISCUSSION OF A PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDING WHATCOM COUNTY
CODE 12.60, ROAD NAMING SYSTEM, TO INCLUDE HONORARY ROAD NAMING
(AB2016 -157)
Joe Rutan, Public Works Department, gave a staff report and answered questions
about whether an honorary road name creates confusion for emergency responders and the
public due to conflicts with other existing road names and electronic map searches.
Mann moved to recommend that this ordinance is forwarded to the full Council for
introduction and public hearing.
The motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Brenner, Browne, and Mann (3)
Nays: None (0)
OTHER BUSINESS
There was no other business.
ADJOURN
The meeting adjourned at 1:38 p.m.
